AECVETA (European Agency for the Development of Sand Yachting and Adventure Tourism), founded on January 31, 1999, by Ali Liaquat, a former legionnaire passionate about sports and travel, is an organization recognized by the International Federation of Sand Yachting (FISLY), in partnership with the ANT (National Tourism Agency of Djibouti) and the FFCV (French Federation of Sand Yachting). Located in the desert landscapes of Djibouti, our unique center combines adventure, ecology, and a passion for sand yachting.
Our team of certified guides guarantees you safety, authenticity, and self-transcendence.
This travel agency has no other objective than to share its knowledge of this corner of the Horn of Africa with everyone. We promote an ecological, engine-free sport that respects the environment, while offering exceptional tourist experiences.
A pioneer of sand yachting in Djibouti, Ali Liaquat took the reins of the center in 1996. He successfully collaborated with the FFDJ (Djiboutian Sand Yachting Federation) to modernize equipment and open the sport to the general public. A visionary, he also signed agreements with Air France to attract international visitors.
This international ambition now fuels an even greater dream: to organize a regional championship, or perhaps one day the world championship in Djibouti, shining a light on his beloved republic on the global sports stage. His inspiring journey continues to drive AECVETA, which strives to keep this unique sport alive in the Horn of Africa.
